Free Pokémon Card Price API: Real-Time TCG Pricing for Everyone — PokéWallet Goes Live (2026)
PokéWallet API is out of beta: real-time Pokémon card prices from TCGPlayer & CardMarket are free on every plan, including the Free tier. No paywalls on pricing data. 50,000+ cards, daily value tracking, and flexible plans starting at €0/month. tcgdex and pokemontcg.io don't offer this.

Free Pokémon Card Price API: Real-Time TCG Pricing on Every Plan — PokéWallet Goes Live
Quick Answer: PokéWallet API is officially out of beta. Real-time Pokémon card prices from TCGPlayer and CardMarket are included on every plan — including the Free tier, forever. No paywall on pricing data. No credit card required to start. While competitors like tcgdex offer zero pricing data and pokemontcg.io locks advanced price info behind paid tiers, PokéWallet gives every developer full economic analysis and daily card value tracking from day one. Most Pokémon TCG APIs give you card names, set codes, and images. If you want prices — the data that actually matters for collectors, investors, and marketplace builders — you hit a wall: either there's no pricing data at all, or it's locked behind an expensive plan.
PokéWallet was built to fix exactly that.
Today, as we exit beta and launch our formal pricing structure, we're making one thing crystal clear: real-time Pokémon card pricing is a core feature, not a premium one. It's free. On every plan. From day one.

Real-Time Pricing: Free on Every Plan
📌 TL;DR: Every PokéWallet API response for a card includes real-time market prices from TCGPlayer and CardMarket — both marketplaces, aggregated, on the free plan. You can build a Pokémon card price tracker, investment portfolio analyzer, or daily value dashboard without ever spending a euro.
This is the core of what makes PokéWallet different.
When you query a card through the PokéWallet API, you don't just get metadata. You get the full economic picture: current market prices, low/mid/high values, CardMarket trends, and TCGPlayer listings — all in a single response, structured and ready to use.
This is true on the Free plan. No upgrade required. No pricing endpoint hidden behind a paywall.
Here's what a typical card response includes on every plan:
{
"name": "Charizard VMAX",
"set": "Champion's Path",
"prices": {
"tcgplayer": {
"market": 87.50,
"low": 72.00,
"mid": 89.99,
"high": 130.00
},
"cardmarket": {
"average": 91.20,
"trend": 88.60,
"low": 69.00
}
}
}
Two marketplaces. Real-time data. Free.
This means you can build:
- Card price trackers that show daily value fluctuations for any card in the 50,000+ database
- Collection portfolio apps that calculate the total market value of a user's collection in real time
- Investment analysis tools that compare TCGPlayer vs CardMarket prices to find arbitrage opportunities
- Price alert bots that notify users when a card drops below a target value
- Set release monitors that track how new cards affect the broader market
All of these are possible on the Free plan. The only thing that scales with paid plans is how many cards you can price per hour.
What Competitors Don't Give You for Free
Let's be direct about the competitive landscape.
| Feature | PokéWallet Free | tcgdex Free | pokemontcg.io Free |
|---|---|---|---|
| Card database | ✅ 50,000+ cards | ⚠️ Fewer | ⚠️ Fewer |
| Set & expansion data | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| Card images | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| TCGPlayer prices | ✅ Free | ⚠️ Inconsistent | ⚠️ Inconsistent |
| CardMarket prices | ✅ Free | ⚠️ Inconsistent | ⚠️ Inconsistent |
| Daily value tracking | ✅ Free | ❌ | ❌ |
| Multi-marketplace aggregation | ✅ Free | ❌ | ❌ |
tcgdex is an excellent open-source project for card metadata. But it offers zero pricing data. If you're building anything that involves card values — a collection tracker, a buy/sell tool, a price alert — you'll need a second API on top of it, and that second API will likely cost money.
pokemontcg.io has partial price data from TCGPlayer, but it's inconsistent across sets, doesn't include CardMarket at all, and the reliability of pricing responses varies. European collectors and developers dealing with CardMarket data have no free option there.
PokéWallet gives you both marketplaces, aggregated, free, because we believe that economic data about the cards you collect or invest in is fundamental — not a premium add-on.
From Beta to Live — What Changed
📌 TL;DR: The API endpoints, data format, and authentication are unchanged. What's new is a formal pricing structure and the end of the Early Access open beta.
During beta, every user received Early Access limits for free (1,000 req/h, 10,000 req/day). Going live means:
- Endpoint stability: Breaking changes will follow a deprecation notice period
- Four formal plan tiers: Free, Coffee, Pro, Business — instead of a single beta tier
- Early Access preserved: Existing Early Access users keep their limits permanently — no action required
- New signups start on Free: 100 req/h, 1,000 req/day — with full pricing data included
Your existing integrations require zero changes.
The Plans Explained
The difference between plans is volume, not features. Pricing data is included everywhere.
| Plan | Hourly Limit | Daily Limit | Price | Pricing Data |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 100 req/h | 1,000 req/day | Free forever | ✅ Full |
| Coffee ☕ | 1,000 req/h | 10,000 req/day | Buy a Ko-fi | ✅ Full |
| Pro | 5,000 req/h | 50,000 req/day | €20/month | ✅ Full |
| Business | Custom | Custom | Contact us | ✅ Full |
Free — €0, forever
The full API. Full pricing data. 1,000 requests per day. No credit card, no trial, no expiration. Enough to build, prototype, and launch small tools without spending anything.
Coffee ☕ — Buy a Ko-fi
Buy a coffee on Ko-fi to support the project. Your limits jump to 1,000 req/h and 10,000 req/day for one month. Each additional coffee adds +25% and extends the duration — they stack. Designed for indie developers who want more headroom without a subscription.
Pro — €20/month
For production apps. 5,000 req/h and 50,000 req/day covers collection trackers with hundreds of users, price monitoring bots, marketplace integrations running background jobs. Includes priority support and early access to upcoming exclusive endpoints.
Business — Custom
For teams operating at scale. Custom rate limits, dedicated support, webhook events, and custom integrations. Contact us on Discord.
Who Is Each Plan For?
Free is right if you're:
- Building a personal Pokémon card price tracker or portfolio app
- A student learning to work with REST APIs using real TCG data
- Prototyping a collection tool before deciding whether to scale
- A hobbyist who wants to monitor the daily value of your collection
Coffee makes sense if you're:
- An indie developer running a small app with real users
- Monitoring prices for dozens or hundreds of cards simultaneously
- Comfortable with a one-time Ko-fi rather than a monthly subscription
Pro is right if you're:
- Running a production app that prices cards for many users concurrently
- Operating a price alert service or automated trading tracker
- Building a marketplace integration that needs sustained high throughput
- Needing priority support and upcoming endpoint access
Business is for you if you're:
- Building a commercial product at scale that depends on card price data
- Needing a direct SLA, webhooks, or custom data delivery
- A company that wants a direct line with the team
How to Upgrade
Everything is managed from your dashboard.
- Log in to your PokéWallet account
- Open the Plan section
- Select your plan and follow the instructions
For the Coffee plan, you'll be redirected to Ko-fi. After payment, your limits update automatically — activation may take up to a couple of hours after Ko-fi confirms the transaction.
For the Pro plan, the upgrade flow runs through Ko-fi's subscription tier directly from the dashboard.
For Business, contact us on Discord and we'll set things up.
What's Next
Going live is the beginning of a longer roadmap:
- Historical price trends: Endpoint to query how a card's value has changed over time — starting with Pro
- Price alert webhooks: Push notifications when a card crosses a price threshold — Business tier first
- Bulk pricing endpoint: Price an entire collection in a single request
- SDK libraries: Official clients for JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and Go
- Expanded marketplace data: More pricing sources beyond TCGPlayer and CardMarket

Frequently Asked Questions
Is real-time card pricing really free? No catch?
Yes — completely free on every plan, including the Free tier, forever. Both TCGPlayer and CardMarket prices are included in every card response. The only thing that scales with paid plans is the number of requests you can make per hour and per day — not what data you get back.
Why do you give pricing data away for free when competitors don't?
Because we think economic data about Pokémon cards is fundamental, not a premium feature. A collector tracking their collection's value, a developer building a price alert tool, or a student learning to work with APIs shouldn't need to pay just to see what a Charizard costs today. Rate limits exist to manage infrastructure costs — not to lock you out of data.
Can I build a Pokémon card investment tracker on the Free plan?
Yes. The Free plan gives you 1,000 requests per day with full pricing data from both TCGPlayer and CardMarket. That's enough to track the daily value of a collection, monitor price trends, and build portfolio analysis tools — all without spending anything.
How current is the pricing data?
Prices are aggregated from TCGPlayer and CardMarket and updated continuously. Data reflects current market conditions within the update interval — not necessarily live auction data, but current enough for daily tracking, investment analysis, and price monitoring.
I'm an Early Access user. Do my limits change?
No, nothing changes. Early Access users (1,000 req/h, 10,000 req/day) keep their limits permanently. No action required on your end.
When does the Coffee plan activate after buying on Ko-fi?
Typically fast, but it can take up to a couple of hours after Ko-fi confirms the transaction. If your limits haven't updated after 2 hours, contact us at hello@pokewallet.io or reach out on Discord.
Can I stack multiple coffees?
Yes. Each coffee adds +25% to the base Coffee limits and extends the duration by one month. They stack in both boost percentage and time.
What happens when I hit my rate limit?
You'll receive a 429 Too Many Requests response. Limits reset on the next hourly/daily window. Every API response includes X-RateLimit-Remaining-Hour and X-RateLimit-Remaining-Day headers so you can monitor usage proactively and avoid hitting the wall.
Is PokéWallet API a tcgdex or pokemontcg.io alternative?
For card metadata: yes, comparable. For pricing: it goes significantly further. tcgdex has no pricing data at all. pokemontcg.io covers TCGPlayer partially but not CardMarket. PokéWallet is the only free API that aggregates both marketplaces. See our full comparison for a detailed breakdown.
